On March 8, as the world celebrates International Women’s Day, I am proud to join the movement to commemorate the extraordinary achievements and resilience of women everywhere. Alongside my husband Bob, via our personal endeavors, within PXG, and through The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation, we are deeply committed to championing and supporting women and girls, not just today, but every day.

As an entrepreneur and business executive, I am privileged to have met remarkable women from around the globe, whose stories of resilience and determination continuously inspire me. In celebration of International Women’s Day, I am excited to #InspireInclusion by spotlighting ten exceptional women who are experts in their respective fields, challenge gender norms, shatter glass ceilings, and uplift those around them. These women are paving the way for future generations and their stories serve as a testament to the power of perseverance and collective action in advancing gender equality.

Elevate your golf game with the optimal shaft for your golf clubs. At PXG, we understand that the right golf shaft is not just about choosing between graphite and steel. It’s about precision, performance, and unlocking your full potential on the course.

Selecting the optimal golf club shaft is a critical decision for any golfer. Your shaft choice directly impacts your swing speed, club weighting, and overall performance. A mismatched shaft can hinder your ability to hit straight and far, holding you back from reaching your peak potential.

FIND THE BEST SHAFT FOR YOUR GOLF SWING

At PXG, our shaft matrix undergoes rigorous testing and selection by the PXG Engineering Team to ensure excellence in every club. And while we always recommend scheduling an in-person fitting or calling PXG Sales & Support at 844.PLAY.PXG for advice, we’ve built the ultimate golf club shaft guide to help empower your decisions!

Here’s everything you need to know about shaft selection as well as details and benefits for every golf club shaft in our matrix!

SHAFT FAQS
Back to Contents

1. WHICH SHAFTS WILL I TEST DURING MY PXG FITTING?
During your PXG custom fitting, a PXG Fitting Specialist will work with you to find your baseline swing data, often using your current golf clubs. Using their years of expertise in golf swing analysis, your PXG Fitter will quickly narrow down your initial golf shaft and clubhead options to test.

Typically, a player will test anywhere between 5-10 clubhead and shaft combinations from the thousands available in our matrix. Once a player has warmed up, our fitters look to find the right shaft in as few swings as possible so that we are using the most accurate data to ensure that performance gains translate to improvements on the course.

2. DOES PXG MAKE STOCK SHAFTS?
We are frequently asked if we make our own stock shafts. PXG’s focus remains on clubhead technology and performance which is why we work with the very best premium shaft manufacturers to select the shafts that become part of our matrix. Each shaft is chosen by our engineers based on how it performs with our clubhead technology and meets the needs of a players’ various swing characteristics. That being said, the PXG M16 putter shaft is our first venture into the design and manufacturing of our own shaft.

3. DOES SHAFT SELECTION REALLY IMPACT GOLF PERFORMANCE?
Selecting the right shaft for your PXG clubs absolutely impacts performance – and your enjoyment of the game! Length, shaft material, weight, shaft flex, and torque are all characteristics important in the shaft selection process. The proper shaft will work with your tendencies to improve consistency of contact, launch conditions, and direction.

Playing a shaft that’s too stiff or too weak may cause a player to struggle with starting the ball online or with creating optimal launch conditions. A fitting is the easiest way to gain distance and accuracy with immediate results. Allow our PXG Fitting Specialists to find the right shaft for your swing. Call 1.844.PLAY.PXG today or find a PXG fitting location near you.

4. WHAT ABOUT GRAPHITE VERSUS STEEL? HOW DO STEEL SHAFTS VERSUS GRAPHITE SHAFTS COMPARE?
Steel shafts are typically heavier than graphite shafts and provide a more stable feel. Players with a slower swing tempo often prefer graphite shafts to support increased swing speed and distance.

Graphite shafts also tend to absorb vibrations better than steel shafts meaning that those off-center strikes don’t reverberate up the shaft to sensitive hands, wrists, and elbows.

Professional golfers and low handicappers often prefer steel shafts for their consistency and the increased shaft feedback felt from misfires and off-center hits.

Players of all levels – including our PXG TOUR Professionals typically choose graphite in their PXG HybridsFairway Woods, and PXG Drivers to increase swing speed and distance.

5. HOW DO I KNOW WHAT MY SWING SPEED IS?
During a PXG custom fitting, your PXG Fitting Specialist will use TrackMan to measure and assess your swing speed accurately.

Carry DistanceSwing SpeedFlex
Under 200 yardsUnder 75 mphLadies or Senior
200 to 240 yards75 to 95 mphRegular
240 to 275 yards95 to 110 mphStiff
Over 275 yardsOver 110 mphExtra Stiff

In general terms, the faster the swing, the stiffer the shaft required. At higher speeds, the shaft will deflect more. Our goal during a fitting is to find a shaft that matches your swing and delivers the clubhead in a proper and consistent orientation at impact.

6. HOW DO I FIND THE RIGHT SHAFT FLEX?
Other than swing speed, there are several factors that might determine which shaft flex best suits your swing. Tempo, clubhead speed, ball speed, spin, and distance are all tracked during a PXG custom fitting to help your fitter find the best golf shaft and clubhead combination needed to enhance your performance.

Feel and confidence are also important factors. But ultimately, your PXG Fitting Specialist will rely on years of fitting experience and swing data to provide the most informed recommendation for your game.

7. HOW IS CLUB LENGTH MEASURED AT PXG?
Club length measurements can vary by manufacturer. At PXG, we use the USGA standard for measuring club length. This involves placing the clubhead against a block angled at 60 degrees and measuring down the shaft axis to the end of the club. We make all of our measurements to the end of the shaft before the club is gripped to maximize consistency.

8. WHAT DO THE LETTERS L, A, R, S, X ON THE SHAFT MEAN?
PXG offers golf club shafts across the rating spectrum: Extra Stiff, Stiff, Regular, Senior, and Ladies, denoted by the letters X, S, R, A, and L (“A” is used for Senior because this flex was originally called “amateur”).

At PXG we build your club to enhance your unique swing, regardless of age or gender!

9. WHAT FLEX GOLF SHAFT SHOULD I USE?
Finding the right flex for your golf shaft can improve your accuracy, trajectory, and distance. The flex rating denotes the golf shaft’s ability to bend during the golf swing.

Shafts are designed to have different bend profiles to deliver the clubhead differently at impact.

Two shafts of the same flex designation may have different bend profiles that create very different results. If a golfer uses too weak of a shaft, they might experience difficulty delivering the clubhead in a consistent manner. Conversely, using a shaft that is too stiff may make it difficult to get the face of the club squared to the target at impact. In both scenarios, launch conditions likely aren’t optimized, leading to shorter golf shots. We recommend getting fit for a shaft either in person, over the phone, or on our website to find what shaft will work best for you.

10. HOW DO I CHOOSE MY SHAFT WEIGHT?
The number shown on your golf shaft is the weight of the shaft in grams. Heavier shafts tend to suit bigger, stronger golfers who swing the club faster. Lighter golf shafts make it easier to increase clubhead speed and so typically suit golfers with a lower swing speed.

If a shaft is too light, a player may experience inconsistency in distance and direction. During a fitting, a player will try multiple weights to maximize distance while minimizing dispersion.

11. DOES “TORQUE” MATTER IN A GOLF SHAFT?
Torque is measured in degrees and describes the shaft’s torsional stiffness, or resistance to twisting. A high-torque shaft rating means more twist occurs compared to a low-torque shaft which better resists twisting.

Golfers with a smooth swing may encounter a harsh feel and trouble starting the ball on the target line with too low of a torque rating.

A strong golfer with a fast swing may experience a lack of feel for the clubhead’s position and a lack of control with too high of a torque rating.

12. WHAT DOES “FREQUENCY” IN A GOLF SHAFT MEAN?
The frequency of a golf shaft, measured in cycles per minute (CPM), refers to a test in which a club is clamped at the grip end, then flexed and released. The frequency is a measure of the rate of oscillation, which correlates to stiffness. High CPM shafts are stiffer than lower CPM shafts.

At PXG, we take multiple frequency measurements of every shaft we consider for our matrix. This data gives us more information on bend profile of the shaft and how it is intended to perform.

13. WHAT DOES “SPINNING” IN A GOLF SHAFT MEAN?
Shaft companies often refer to shafts as having launch and spin characteristics. For example, one shaft may be “high launch, high spin” while another is “low launch, low spin.” These designations are a simplified explanation of the profile of the shaft, a measure of how stiff the shaft is at each point along its length. High launch, high spin shafts generally have weaker tip sections and are designed to increase the loft angle at impact for higher trajectory, while low launch, low spin shafts are stiffer in the tip section for the opposite effect.

While these correlations hold true for many golfers, there are always exceptions to the rule because each of us has our own unique swing. We recommend getting fit and testing a variety of profiles to see what works best for you.

14. CAN I ADJUST THE LENGTH OF MY IRONS WITHOUT IMPACTING PERFORMANCE?
Adjusting the length of your irons will affect the swing weight of the clubs. If you keep the head weight the same, clubs feel heavier as they get longer and lighter as they get shorter. We use swing weights to create a consistent feel throughout the set. During the build process, we match swing weights throughout the set to the clubs with which you were fit to ensure you are getting exactly what you expect. Adjusting the length without adjusting head weight may cause a change in how heavy your clubs feel.

15. IF I CHOOSE A LONGER DRIVER SHAFT, WILL I HIT IT FARTHER?
Theoretically, yes. Longer driver shafts produce more clubhead speed and higher launch. However, longer clubs can also lead to inconsistency in contact and direction, so while your maximum distance may go up, your average distance may go down.

16. ARE THERE RIGHT-HANDED AND LEFT-HANDED SHAFTS?
No, the USGA regulations on golf shafts require that shafts must be designed to perform the same for all orientations.

17. ARE DRIVER AND FAIRWAY WOOD SHAFTS THE SAME?
Yes, PXG uses the term “wood shafts” to describe driver and fairway wood shafts. Generally, players will use a slightly heavier shaft in their fairway woods than in their driver. However, some players opt to use the same shafts in their fairway woods and driver.

18. DOES PXG OFFER LADIES AND SENIOR SHAFTS?
Yes, PXG offers ladies and senior flex shafts. We recommend getting fit either in person, over the phone, or online to determine what shaft flex works best for you.

If you’re serious about your golf game, then now is the time to get fitted. PXG Fitting Specials are standing by to help you get fit via phone at 1.844.PLAY.PXG, online, or at a PXG location near you!

How can you find the perfect putter that matches your golf game? While there are many different types of putters, finding the right one all comes down to knowing your personal tastes and style preferences, as well as understanding the technology and adjustability available to enhance your putting stroke.

To help you decide which one is best for you, we’ve put together this putter buying guide with all the information you need to choose a putter that’s right for your game.

CHOOSING THE RIGHT PUTTER

Choosing a putter that is right for your game can be tricky. Golfers of all levels will want to make sure they choose a putter that gives them confidence at address and makes putting feel as natural as possible. For the club we use the most, statistics show that most golfers have never been professionally fitted for a putter. It’s time to level up on the green with a professionally fitted PXG putter, optimized for your unique stroke.

So, how can you find a putter that is going to help you sink those crucial four-footers? Here are some tips that will help you find that perfect match:

PUTTER HEAD TYPE

The first thing you need to do is figure out which type of putter will work best for your game. Blade and mallet putters are the two most common putter styles. How do I know which one fits my game?

Mallet putters generally feature a large clubhead profile for added stability and forgiveness. Blade-style putters present a more straightforward design often favored by golf purists and lower handicap golfers. Read on below to see the various styles of mallet and blade putters available from PXG.

SHAFT LENGTH

Spine angle and hand position in a putting stroke are heavily influenced by the length of the putter. A proper putter shaft length will fit comfortably in the hands at setup and allow for a natural and free flowing putting stroke. PXG’s standard putter length is 34”.

GRIP

PXG’s new performance putter grips were designed to meet a variety of preferences and styles to give golfers the edge they need on the green.

Made by stitching a polyurethane wrap around an injection molded EVA foam core, these grips are lightweight, allowing us to create a variety of shapes and sizes. The polyurethane wrap also has an “X” pattern for improved texture and feel.

When it comes to putting, every player has their own grip preferences. Let’s help you find your perfect partner and take a closer look at the new PXG grip line up!

LOFT & LIE

Why do loft and lie matter when it comes to a putter set up? Both of these elements impact launch angle and roll characteristics. To learn more, take a look at our engineer designed Battle Ready fitting tool, complete with handy videos to provide a visual walk through on these important elements.

HOSEL

PXG’s 0211 Putters have fixed hosel options that vary per head type. Battle Ready II Putters are available to customize with five hosel options.

 • Plumber’s Neck – for players who slightly rotate the clubhead
 • Heel Shafted – for players who over rotate the clubhead
 • Double Bend – for players who tend to push the ball
 • Armlock – for players who desire greater control and stability with their putting stroke
 • Center Shafted – for players who tend to push the ball

WEIGHT & BALANCE

Battle Ready II Putters come standard with a stock head weight that’s dependent upon the model and hosel you choose. By adding a PXG Weight Kit to your order, you may adjust the head weight of your putter down by at least -15g or up by at least +20g.

0211 Putters have been pre-optimized for weight and balance by our PXG Engineers.

PXG putters are designed with a player’s specific game in mind. Because PXG clubs are custom-built, every club is different and can be tailored to your golfing abilities. Now that you know what to look out for – let us introduce you to our lineup of milled and cast putters to help you find your perfect match.

BATTLE READY II Versus 0211 PUTTERS

Battle Ready II Putters are crafted from aerospace-grade aluminum and high-density tungsten. Unique to the Battle Ready lineup, PXG Engineers introduced high-density tungsten inserts. The inserts are strategically positioned in every putter to enhance stability and boost MOI.

Our 0211 lineup includes five putters: V-42, Bayonet, Hellcat, Clydesdale, and Lightning. Each 0211 Putter features PXG’s bold Runway Reticle™ alignment aid and patented Pyramid Face Pattern technology for exceptional accuracy and consistency with every putt, as well as an outstanding sound and feel.

As our flagship option, Battle Ready Putters are fully optimized and packed with patented technology and premium materials. 0211 Putters come with three non-interchangeable hosel types and a price tag that will bring a smile to your face.

PXG putters are available to both left- and right-handed golfers.

PXG MALLET PUTTERS

BATTLE READY II APACHE

high MOI mallet-style putter, the Battle Ready Blackbird features the deepest center of gravity (CG) location, approximately 0.200” further back than in the similar sized Blackjack, One & Done, and Gunboat, for killer stability on every stroke.

The Blackjack is a bold, high MOI mallet-style putter with exceptional stability, forgiveness and clean alignment features letting you double down your bets as you sink more putts.

BATTLE READY II BAT ATTACK

The Bat Attack is a modified mallet putter with long contrasting weighted heel-toe wings designed for easy alignment to the target. This modified mallet offers the MOI and center of gravity benefits of a mallet style putter in a visually smaller package to inspire confidence on the green.

The largest of the 0211 Putters, Lightning features a double bend hosel, PXG’s bold Runway Reticle alignment aid, and flagship Pyramid Face Pattern technology for outstanding accuracy and consistency with every putt.

V-42 also boasts PXG’s flagship Pyramid Face Pattern technology for maximum consistency across the face.

PXG BLADE PUTTERS

BATTLE READY II CLOSER

The Closer is a sleek, wide blade-style putter that has been redesigned based off tour player feedback. The new design offers a longer heel/toe length and a slightly thinner width front/back. The ballasts have also been reshaped to be more pronounced and deliver exceptional stability.

BATTLE READY II DAGGER+

The Dagger+ is a traditionalist blade-style putter with a modern flair and zero offset. With hollow body construction combined with S COR™, PXG’s lightweight polymer filling, this updated version of PXG‘s Dagger+ putter offers increased MOI along with an excellent sound and feel. Dagger+ is available in two fixed hosel options – heel shafted, and center shafted.

BATTLE READY II MUSTANG

The Mustang is a blade style putter featuring weighted heel and toe ballasts, increasing stability, and making it easy for alignment at address so you can sink more putts!

PXG 0211 Bayonet Putter

The post COURSE MANAGEMENT: WHEN TO PLAY YOUR PXG WEDGES appeared first on PXG.]]>

Whether you’ve just started the game of golf, or you’ve been playing for some time and are ready to take your game to the next level, understanding how wedges are supposed to be played is a vital part of your golf game that can elevate your skills and lower your score. When it comes to golf wedges, it can be overwhelming to see all the different options available. Different lofts, grinds, and bounce angles can make it difficult to know which wedge to choose for a given shot. However, understanding the purpose of each loft can help make the decision a bit easier. Let’s look at why wedges come in different lofts and how to choose the right one for your game.

What is a Wedge?

First, let’s talk about what a wedge actually is. A wedge has the shortest shaft, the highest loft, and is a high-lofted club most frequently used around the green and fairway. Wedges specialize in hitting the ball high and spinning the ball once it lands. Like we said, different lofts, grinds, and bounce angles can change how each shot is performed, making it challenging to know which wedge is right for your perfect shot.

So Many Options

Let’s discuss options. There are a variety of loft options when it comes to wedges. Why? These clubs are designed to help golfers navigate different types of shots around the green, such as approach shots, pitches, chips, and bunker shots. Each of these shots requires a different trajectory and distance, which is why wedges are available in a range of lofts. The higher lofted wedges (60, 58, 56 degrees), for example, will produce a higher ball flight and shorter distance, while lower lofted wedges (54, 52, 50, 48 degrees) will produce a lower ball flight and longer distance.

Golf wedges are typically divided into four categories: pitching wedges, gap wedges, sand wedges, and lob wedges. Each of these wedges has a different loft, bounce angle, and grind, which affects the performance and playability of the club. Pitching wedges typically have a loft of around 46 to 48 degrees, while gap wedges have a loft of around 50 to 52 degrees. Sand wedges have a loft of around 54 and 56 degrees, and lob wedges have the highest loft of around 58 to 64 degrees. All four different types of wedges play a unique part in a player’s golf game, let’s take a closer look into each wedge and learn more about how each club performs.

Pitching Wedge

The pitching wedge is typically the lowest lofted club in a golfer’s wedge set. A pitching wedge can be used for both mid-range shots from the fairway/rough and bump-and-run chipping around the green. While a pitching wedge has a higher degree of loft than its partnering irons and is used for high-trajectory shots toward your target, this particular wedge is also a great option for playing low, rolling shots around the green since it also carries less loft than a sand or lob wedge. This is because the low loft lets the ball fly lower and roll further once it lands on the green. The pitching wedge is an all-purpose club, but golfers tend to use it less frequently as they get better at their short game and need more control with chips and pitches. When first starting, most golfers will rely on the pitching wedge as their only wedge, but as you learn more about the other wedges available you will see why using a different wedge based on the shot at hand can take your game from novice to advanced. Being able to play different types of shots with your pitching wedge is a great way to develop a sound short game. The more ways you can spin, chip, and pitch a golf ball around the green will help you play better golf in all types of scenarios.

Gap Wedge

Next up is the gap wedge. One of the more versatile wedges in our lineup, due to the fact that the gap wedge fills the gap between the pitching wedge and the sand wedge, hence the name. Gap wedges typically have a loft between 50-52 degrees, which is perfect for those approach shots that are too long for the pitching wedge but too short for the sand wedge. Like most golfers, one will find themselves at a yardage point where neither a pitching nor sand wedge is called for. Although more advanced players have the ability to play different types of shots with either club, including a gap wedge is a great option when those in-between yardages come into play without having to alter your swing.

Sand Wedge

The sand wedge is a specialized club that is used for shots around the green. However, as the name suggests, it is more commonly known for assisting with shots from bunkers. Sand wedges typically have a loft between 54-56 degrees, which is perfect for getting the ball out of a bunker and onto the green quickly. However, because of the club’s heavier weight and large bounce, it is useful for a variety of shots, not strictly those involving sand. The sand wedge is a versatile club that can be played for both high and lower-trajectory shots. By either opening or closing the face when setting up to the ball, a sand wedge can now become three different lofts for any lie you are in.

Lob Wedge

Finally, the lob wedge is usually the highest lofted club in a golfer’s bag and is used mainly for those high, soft shots around the green. Depending on your skill level, using a lob wedge may be beneficial or disruptive to your short game. While skilled players have the ability to control the spin of a lob wedge and land it closer to the hole with little-to-no rollout, intermediate golfers haven’t developed that skill quite yet. Lob wedges typically have a loft between 58-64 degrees, which is perfect for those shots where you need to get the ball to stop quickly, such as a shot over a bunker or a chip shot over a slope. Beyond the green, the lob wedge is a real lifesaver when it comes to obstacles such as lips in sand traps or even trees in line with your shot. It has been known to save more than a few golfers from some tricky lies along the course, so while it may not be the most versatile club in your bag, it is certainly a useful one to have around when the time is right.

Hopefully, you gained a slightly better understanding of the wedge hierarchy and how they all work so you are better prepared for your next round. As you probably gathered, there is a lot to learn when it comes to wedges and choosing the right one isn’t a simple right or wrong answer. It varies from golfer to golfer and even course to course, however better understanding of how each wedge works is the start of figuring out which is best for your game.

Ready to take these tips to the course? Check out our Sugar Daddy II Wedge with the BP-Grind and C-Grind options available in every loft. The BP-Grind provides additional bounce and maximum forgiveness for those lush turf conditions or deep sand traps. For more skilled golfers, we recommend the C-Grind as it delivers a moderate bounce for those more creative shots around the green. If you prefer to get a professional opinion on your wedge game, set up a 1-on-1 appointment with a PXG expert fitter. They will take you through a detailed and personal fitting experience to help you figure out the best wedge type for you game. Head to our shop and choose the Sugar Daddy II Wedge and loft to elevate your short game and lower your score on your next round.

Golf clubs can be an investment. As with any investment item, it’s only natural to want to care for it as best as possible. Learning how to properly clean and care for your PXG clubs will help ensure top performance and save you some green for years to come..

What Will You Need to Clean and Care For Your PXG Clubs?

Before beginning the process of caring for and cleaning your PXG clubs, it’s necessary to have the following items on hand:

 • An old toothbrush or soft-bristle brush
 • Warm water
 • A microfiber towel
 • Chrome or steel polish
 • A cloth
 • A bucket and/or bowl
 • Non-toxic and gentle dishwashing liquid or soap

You’ll also need to determine the type of PXG club you plan to clean. The care and cleaning method can vary slightly depending on the PXG club type due to the differences in materials.

How to Clean and Care For Your Irons and Wedges

The process for cleaning PXG irons and wedges is straightforward and is fairly easy. From the above items listed, you’ll need a soft-bristled brush, a microfiber towel, a bucket, warm water, and some soap or dishwashing liquid. To begin, start by filling the bucket with warm water and adding a few teaspoons of gentle soap or dishwashing liquid to the bucket. Place your club heads in the bucket and allow them to soak for at least five minutes. Next, remove the irons one-by-one from the bucket and use the soft-bristled brush to remove any dirt and buildup. Using a toothbrush or even a butter knife can be effective in getting into the grooves. Because the golf ball is compressed in the grooves, buildup in that area can impact contact and overall performance. You may also want to use the soft bristled brush to clean any perimeter and precision weighting on the back side of the clubhead. Once you’re finished, give your club another rinse in the bucket of warm water to wash away any lingering debris. Lastly, dry your club with the microfiber towel and pay special attention to polishing and shining the sole of the club.

How to Clean and Care For Your Woods and Putters

For your PXG Fairways, the cleaning process is a bit different as these types of clubs should never be submerged in water due to the metal they contain. Instead, simply mix warm water and a few teaspoons of gentle dishwashing liquid or soap into a bowl or bucket and dip your soft-bristle brush or toothbrush into the mixture. Use the brush to scrub your club head carefully and gently. Once you’ve finished, take your microfiber towel, and dry it thoroughly. PXG putters can be cleaned this way as well and should generally only require a quick wipe down.

How to Clean and Care For Your PXG Club Shaft

Once you’ve cleaned your club heads, you can move onto the club shaft. This area is prone to dirt buildup too and should not be neglected. To remove any dirt, use a damp cloth to wipe any buildup from the shaft. Next, dry it thoroughly with a clean microfiber towel.

How to Clean and Care For Your Grip

Many golfers overlook caring for and cleaning the grip of their clubs. In order to get that fresh and tacky feeling back, it’s wise to clean your grips regularly. Doing so is not only better for performance, but it’s also beneficial to maintaining the quality of the club. Grips tend to accumulate dirt and sweat, and can wear down over time making it difficult to get a good grip on your club. This can of course impact your swing. To clean your grip, make a habit of wiping it down with a damp cloth after you play. Make sure the cloth is not too hot as the heat can damage the grip. After, dry it with a microfiber towel and store your club safely.

How to Store Your PXG Clubs

For proper storage, it’s important to consider your climate, where you live, and where you plan to store your PXG clubs when they’re not in use. It’s always best to choose an area that is temperature controlled. While the trunk of your car may seem like the most convenient option if you’re a frequent player, this can cause long-term damage to the clubs. Car trunks collect heat and constant movement and clanging in the back of your car may cause wear and tear. Instead, try storing them in a dry, cool area of your garage. If your garage is humid, it may be best to store them inside your home. Humid conditions can cause rust and epoxy breakdown.

Extra Care Tips for Your PXG Clubs

We mentioned earlier in our list of necessary items that chrome or steel polish can be useful. If you feel like taking the extra step in cleaning and caring for your clubs, try polishing them with a chrome or steel polish to make them shine like brand new.

Cleaning your clubs during your golf round to mitigate buildup is always an option, too! Give your PXG clubs a quick wipe down while you’re on the course using a small microfiber towel clipped to your golf bag or even using your golf tee.

While we can’t guarantee cleaning your clubs will improve your golf game, it’s always worth a shot! Head to the PXG website and check out a variety of towels and wedge brush accessories.

The trick to better golf is treating yourself to the best golf clubs money can buy. PXG is getting into the spooky spirit and offering unbeatable prices on our most popular products to date. Not only are these deals scary good, the technology behind PXG clubs is killer!

PXG 0311 GEN5 IRONS

PXG’s GEN5 Irons are engineered for players of all skill levles. With its updated 5x forged head design, new advanced technologies, and unmatched distance and forgiveness, GEN5 Irons are a force to be reckoned with.

Precision Weight Technology

All GEN5 Iron models feature five tungsten heal/toe weight ports with one added large weight near the CG of the back of the club head. The large center weight can be adjusted to any player’s swing mechanics to further benefit launch, distance, and overall feel.

Power Channel Technology

The Power Channel Technology is a newly designed U-shaped corridor that is built within the clubface of each GEN5 iron model. The U-shaped channel helps increase deflection off the clubface while simultaneously creating face movement to better launch angle, trajectory, and ball speed.

XCOR 2 Technology

The new GEN5 Irons are equipped with a re-engineered and patented XCOR2 Technology. Made out of specially-created polymer core material, XCOR2 is an extremely lightweight substance that allows more weight to be positioned around the perimeter of the backside of the club head. This creates an increase in MOI (moment of inertia) and forgiveness, giving each player maximum playability. Paired with the ultra-thin face technology, the XCOR2 structure increases the C.O.R. for maximum ball speed and extreme face deflection.

PXG 0311 GEN5 DRIVER

PXG has continuously upped their driver game from their previous generation. The latest GEN5 Driver has taken distance, forgiveness, and ball speeds to a new level while staying true to the brand’s clean clubhead design.

Precision Weight Technology

The Precision Weight Technology in the GEN5 Drivers are equipped with one light (2.5g) and two heavy (7.5g) weights that are interchangeable to allow players to find their exact spin and ball flight preference.

Weights are available in: 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20

Supported Weight Structure

New to the PXG driver technology is the advanced supported weight structure. Shifting the focal weight ports to the perimeter of the clubhead creates a stiff, stable structure that produces high frequency vibrations for better sound and unmatched feel at impact.

Face Technology

PXG GEN5 Drivers are made from a high-strength Ti412 titanium alloy which allows the clubface to have a high face deflection and spring to create maximum ball speeds. The variable face design of the driver helps decrease the mass and increase the durability of the clubhead through contact.

PXG 0311 SUGARY DADDY II WEDGE

PXG’s Sugary Daddy II Wedges should be everyone’s go-to club for around the green play. The Sugar Daddy II Wedges have two versatile sole designs the BP-Grind (13) and C-Grind (10). The BP-Grind is designed for lush turf conditions, sand traps, and players with a steep attack angle. With the wider sole and slight taper from heel to toe, the BP-Grind is able to produce higher bounce and maximum forgiveness. The C-Grind is designed with a narrow sole and a more aggressive taper from heel to toe. Since the C-Grind produces moderate bounce at impact, this option is best for firm turf conditions.

Precision Weight Technology

The 0311 Sugar Daddy II Wedge allows swing weight adjustability. The large weight located in the center back of the club head can be adjusted in 2-gram increments during a PXG fitting. This allows players of all skill levels to find the exact spin rate and ball flight for their game.

Full Face Grooves

PXG re-designed their wedges with a full-face groove structure. This helps expand the hitting area for off-centered shots and allows more confidence at address.

High Toe Weighting

The High Toe Weighting technology in the Sugar Daddy II Wedges helps position the CG (center of gravity) in line with open-face shots. This allows more forgiveness and better impact with each shot.
