For Tech Sgt. Leonard Anderson, an Air Force veteran who served his country with unwavering dedication for 14 years, PXG Dallas, became a symbol of hope and resilience, thanks to the support of one of our devoted fitters.

Sgt. Anderson’s life took an unexpected turn during his second tour in Iraq when an IED left him with physical injuries and emotional scars that earned him a Purple Heart Award. His love for golf played a significant role in his rehabilitation, giving him a reason to stay physically and mentally active. However, finding clubs that catered to his unique needs proved challenging.

Since high school, Sgt. Anderson quotes golf as being a constant in his life. While he didn’t play competitively, the sport was an outlet for emotional and mental release with the added benefit of spending time with his comrades. His passion for golf carried him through his military service. However, he lacked the grip strength to play after he was injured, preventing him from making shots within 100 yards. Determined, he experimented by attaching pieces of hose to the end of three club shafts, but the makeshift adjustments continued to limit his game.

Frustrated after falling short of success with several other stores, Sgt. Anderson turned to PXG Dallas, recalling their support at a 4 the Fallen fundraiser where he is the program director for prosthetics. His journey to finding the perfect golf clubs began with a chance encounter with Jay McIlroy, one of the experienced fitters and certified club builders at PXG Dallas. Jay didn’t hesitate to help Sgt. Anderson, taking the time to understand his unique needs. They discussed his swing, concerns, and goals on the golf course. Drawing inspiration from PXG’s founder, Bob Parsons, a fellow veteran and Purple Heart recipient, Jay’s commitment to helping Sgt. Anderson went far beyond the norm for a fitter in any other golf store.

“I just thought of Mr. Parsons and what he would do, and that would be everything and anything he possibly could,” said Jay McIlroy, PXG Dallas Fitter.

Jay started by selecting stock PXG equipment that would provide Sgt. Anderson with both performance and comfort.

“The process itself was fairly easy. Jay took time out of his day to help me and get the journey started,” Sgt. Leonard Anderson said. “Other people wanted to try and reinvent the wheel, but it didn’t feel right. If you’re not the one swinging it, it’s hard to explain the feeling.”

However, Sgt. Anderson’s story didn’t end there. He needed extensions from the VA for his prosthetics for the clubs to fit, and the irons and wedges posed more of a challenge. Undeterred, Jay went the extra mile, taking the clubs home after work and making small adjustments that would make a world of difference for Sgt. Anderson.

“Taking time out of my personal day means nothing because this is something I wanted to get perfect,” Jay said. “This is an absolute honor for me. This is what I live for, something simple that makes all the difference for him. I’ve got chill bumps!”

The customization process was meticulous. Jay tailored the club lengths, lofts, and lies to accommodate Sgt. Anderson’s unique stance and swing. The result was a set of golf clubs that felt like a natural extension of Sgt. Anderson’s body, allowing him to regain his confidence and continue his path to recovery.

“It’s hard to explain what it means to me. There’s a lot to be said for someone who jumps in feet first into finding a solution. Other companies don’t give you that option unless you’re willing to spend a lot of money. PXG had that personal ability to do this for me, and once we started discussing the Heroes program, I knew it was right,” Sgt. Leonard Anderson said. “To be treated that way blew me away. It was very nice to walk into a place and be treated like I had two hands.”

For Sgt. Leonard Anderson, PXG Dallas and the exceptional support he received from Jay weren’t just about finding the perfect golf clubs. It was a testament to the power of resilience, determination, and the belief that anyone, regardless of their circumstances, can find their place on the fairway.

Semper Fi & America’s Fund announce a dollar-for-dollar match benefitting critically ill and injured service members, veterans, and military families

Camp Pendleton, CA (October 26, 2023) – For the 12th consecutive year, Semper Fi & America’s Fund (The Fund) is partnering with The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation (The Foundation) and PXG (Parsons Xtreme Golf) for the Double Down for Veterans match campaign. Through the end of the year, The Foundation, with support from PXG, will generously match up to $10 million in donations made to The Fund. If met, this match will bring support of The Fund from The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation and PXG to $100 million!

The Fund will celebrate its 20th anniversary this Spring. Since its inception in 2004, it has given more than $320 million in grants to support 31,000 combat-wounded, ill, and injured service members, veterans, and military families.

One service member, Marine Sergeant Gabe Martinez, lost both his legs when struck by an IED in Afghanistan. When Gabe returned home to be reunited with his wife of three months, Semper Fi & America’s Fund stepped in to help him overcome the challenges of returning to civilian life and managing his injury. With support from The Fund, Gabe was provided adaptive equipment that enabled him to embrace an active lifestyle, rock climbing and running marathons. Today, The Fund still stands by Gabe’s side, offering lifetime support for him and his family.

“Serving our service members, veterans, and military families for the past 19 years has been such an honor,” said Karen Guenther, President, CEO, and Founder of Semper Fi & America’s Fund. “I am so grateful to Bob and Renee Parsons for their unwavering support of our Nation’s heroes. Their generosity, through the Double Down for Veterans match campaign and beyond, has helped countless veterans achieve their highest level of independence and well-being.”

As many service members battle lifelong effects — physical, mental, and emotional — of combat-related injuries or illnesses, one of the critical characteristics of The Fund is lifelong support. The Fund accompanies service members and veterans through the highs and lows, with case managers to check in regularly and other support for as long as needed.

“Transitioning away from military service, whether planned or unplanned due to injury, is never easy,” said Bob Parsons, Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran, Co-Founder of The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation and Founder and CEO of PXG. “Often times these service men, women, and families are carrying both visible and invisible wounds that they’re unprepared to deal with. That’s where The Fund comes in, providing a unique level of support during their time of need.”

Parsons issued the Double Down for Veterans challenge via a moving video address in which he discusses his own personal challenge with PTSD.

Since it began in 2012, the Double Down for Veterans match campaign has raised $193 million thanks to the thousands of donors who, year after year, have looked forward to participating in the annual match from The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation and PXG. These funds have helped support 31,000 service members, veterans, and military families in The Fund’s care.

“Bob and I have a deep commitment to our military families – those who safeguard and preserve our Nation’s freedom,” said Renee Parsons, Co-founder of The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation and President and Executive Creative Director of PXG Apparel. “The Fund’s unique model of lifetime assistance ensures they always have the care and support they need.  And we are honored to partner, personally and through PXG, to provide the hope and unparalleled care they deserve.”

All donations can be made at thefund.org/donate.

Scottsdale, AZ (October 9, 2023) – PXG Tour Professionals swept the men’s tours over the weekend, officially lighting up the leaderboards across the PGA and Korn Ferry Tours.

PXG PGA TOUR Professional Luke List came through in a big way on Sunday, triumphing in a 5-man playoff at the Sanderson Farms Championship. This is List’s second career win on the PGA TOUR, following his victory at Torrey Pines last year.

“Luke is always a fun player to watch, and he certainly did not disappoint this weekend. He earned his place in the winners’ circle, adding to an incredible year of seven wins for PXG’s tour players,” said PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons.

“This is the best I have played all year,” Luke List offered. “I feel like everything – from my swing to my PXG golf clubs – is really dialed-in. This win is further affirmation for me that the hours and the grind has been worth it.”

Over on the Korn Ferry Tour, PXG Tour Professional Paul Barjon carded 14-under to clinch a three-stroke victory at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance. The win launched Barjon from No. 45 to No. 8 on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List, locking up his 2024 PGA TOUR card.

“I couldn’t have planned for a better way to finish out the season. I truly appreciate everyone who has stood by me this year, including my wife, coach, and the team at PXG, to make sure I was equipped and ready to play my best,” shared PXG Tour Professional Paul Barjon.

Barjon was among several PXG Tour Professionals who received their PGA TOUR cards over the weekend, including Jake Knapp, Patrick Fishburn, Ryan McCormick, and Kevin Dougherty.

“What a great finish to a good season for Paul Barjon,” Parsons stated. “With today’s hard-earned victory, Paul joins four other PXG Troops in receiving their PGA TOUR cards for the upcoming season. Kaboom baby!”

PXG Provides Support for Veteran-led Disaster Relief Organization Team Rubicon

Scottsdale, AZ (August 11, 2023) – PXG, a company dedicated to developing the world’s finest golf equipment and apparel, today announced a one-million-dollar donation to Team Rubicon, a veteran-led disaster relief organization. The funds will support Team Rubicon’s ability to provide immediate support in Maui, Hawaii.

By pairing the skills and experiences of military veterans with first responders, medical professionals, and technology solutions, the organization mobilizes highly trained teams to provide the greatest impact possible.

“Team Rubicon quickly coordinates and deploys trained military veterans, first responders, and civilians as volunteers for disaster relief efforts,” PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons stated. “We have witnessed the dedicated volunteers who make up its ranks fall in to embrace and empower devastated communities. Today, we look to bolster their efforts in Maui and help their boots on the ground to do what they do best.”

“In the past ten years, Team Rubicon has built a dedicated team of over 1,000 Greyshirt volunteer leaders in Hawaii. Currently, we have boots on the ground and are in close communication with local authorities and emergency managers to offer our immediate help in shelter set ups, food distribution, donation management and distribution, and staff for the local Emergency Operation Center,” said Art delaCruz, Team Rubicon CEO. “We are extremely grateful to our partners at PXG for their unwavering commitment to supporting those in need.”

Over the years, Team Rubicon has supported the communities of Hawaii with fire mitigation projects and operations on several of the islands. In May, volunteers conducted a wildfire mitigation operation in Honolulu at the request of Hawaii Firewise. Team Rubicon last supported the island of Maui with a storm response in December 2021.

This isn’t the first time that PXG has supported Team Rubicon. Following Hurricane Harvey in 2017, PXG’s commitment of one million dollars helped fuel Team Rubicon’s immediate response. The donation also helped kick-off a pilot “Rebuild” program committed to rebuilding 100 homes in the Houston area. Similarly, PXG’s million-dollar donation for Hurricane Irma relief funded much of the response.

A committed partner, PXG also supported Hurricane Florence relief efforts and, through an innovative “Essential Face Mask” campaign led by President and Executive Creative Director of PXG Apparel Renee Parsons, helped raise awareness of Team Rubicon’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors COVID-19 initiative.

PXG supported relief efforts in Louisiana in 2020. Within hours of Hurricane Laura making landfall, Team Rubicon was on the ground working to clear roadways to help first responders. In the hours and days following, Team Rubicon deployed more Greyshirts to Louisiana and Texas, ultimately resulting in over 800 volunteer deployments between the two states during their response work. In the wake of the storm PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons traveled to Louisiana to see Team Rubicon’s efforts in action and evaluate the devastation in-person. As a result of the visit, PXG and The Bob & Renee Parsons Foundation donated two-million dollars to support the needs of the Louisiana community.

Schedule a free PXG Driver fitting in August, bring your current gamer from any brand, and take the PXG #GEN6DriverChallenge!

Scottsdale, AZ (August 1, 2023) – All month, PXG® is putting its money where its mouth is with the GEN6 Driver ChallengeÔ. The PXG GEN6 Driver Challenge invites all golfers – both PXG fans and critics – to bring their current driver to a free fitting for a head-to-head, knockout event with PXG’s new GEN6 Driver. If the PXG GEN6 Driver is longer or has a tighter dispersion, PXG wins. If not, PXG will hand over a $100 USD Mastercard Rewards Card. No questions asked.

“The PXG GEN6 Driver stands tall next to all the established brands. It’s blazing fast and beyond forgiving. We’re so confident that in nearly every case it will knock out the competition, I am willing to put money on it,” said PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons. “To all those who have wondered and waited, or those who have trolled and not tested, now’s the time. You’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.”

For those who are ready to rise to the challenge, the process is simple:

  • Schedule a free PXG GEN6 Driver Challenge fitting online or call 844.PLAY.PXG.
  • Bring your current driver to the custom fitting appointment.
  • Once warmed up, the PXG Master Fitter will have you hit five (5) shots with your current driver.
    • Performance data will be captured on Trackman® launch monitor.
    • The three (3) best shots will be selected and recorded.
  • The PXG Master Fitter will then conduct a PXG GEN6 Driver fitting.
  • Once complete, the PXG Master Fitter will have you hit five (5) shots with the fitted PXG GEN6 Driver.
    • The three (3) best shots will be selected and recorded.
  • Results will be reviewed, and the winning driver will be identified.
    • Fitter will use Average Total Distance (Carry and Roll) to determine the distance-winning driver.
    • Fitter will use Side Total (+/-) to determine the dispersion-winning driver.
    • PXG is the winner if either category is better than your current driver.

Important notes:

  • Swing speed average must be within three (3) mph – PXG GEN6 Driver vs. Participant’s Current Client’s Driver.
  • Same brand of golf ball must be used throughout the challenge.
  • Limit one challenge per person.

Leading up to the launch of the GEN6 Driver Challenge, PXG ran a few tests behind the scenes, and the result proved the company’s theory – the PXG GEN6 Driver outperforms the competition in almost every instance! More than fifty golfers accepted the sample challenge. PXG won 94% of the time. The average distance with a player’s current gamer was 223 yards. With GEN6, the average distance was 234 yards.

Kicking off today, the challenge will run through August 31st, 2023. Throughout the month, in addition to pre-booked fittings, PXG will host PXG GEN6 Driver Challenge Nights in select PXG Stores and fitting locations.

ABOUT PXG 0311 GEN6 DRIVERS

Engineered to deliver incredible forgiveness, maximum distance, and tight dispersion, PXG 0311 GEN6 Drivers are available in two models to suit golfers at all levels. The PXG 0311® GEN6 Driver features a traditional teardrop head shape with a notably curved crown structure and a shorter body from front to back. The tall/deep clubface is designed to support excellent mishit performance, especially on higher face impacts. The 0311 XFÒ GEN6 Driver has a larger head profile and a more symmetrical shape than its counterpart. This makes it easier to square the face at impact, delivering the ideal blend of distance and forgiveness.

PXG continues to bring new players to the game of golf through key inclusivity initiatives

Scottsdale, AZ (June 30, 2023) – As PXG continues to serve golfers in the greater Atlanta area, the company is also determined to put its extensive product research and development background and its unabashed love of the game to work for the community. Recently, PXG partnered with STEM Atlanta Women to provide local students with a new perspective on golf through the lens of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and sports.

PXG hosted “The Science of Golf” experience at PXG Atlanta in Buckhead, Georgia. The immersive program featured four interactive experiments developed and led by PXG Engineers and Master Fitters. Activities ranged from solving coefficient of restitution (COR) equations and determining putting angles to calculating smash factor and crushing drives in PXG’s golf simulators.

The participants were members of STEM Atlanta Women. This nonprofit was created to enlighten, educate, and empower young black women and girls to take advantage of global opportunities in STEM. The organization offers master classes, innovative programs, tech labs, conferences, and entrepreneurial events to increase the talent pipeline in the industry and provide young girls with the tools needed to build a successful future.

“We are focused on enhancing and increasing the talent pipeline for women and girls in STEM – specifically, black and brown girls from underserved and underrepresented communities, said Dr. Maxine Cain, Founder and CEO of STEM Atlanta Women. “We are focused on emerging and advanced tech to provide these young women with the skills they need to be successful in the 21st Century. We were so excited for the program at PXG Atlanta, which introduced them to the science of golf and the industry’s numerous career opportunities.”

“Supporting these young women through the various activities was incredible,” said PXG Product Test Engineer Grace Wilson. “Seeing them get excited about golf and science and math and hearing them say they want to play more or become a mechanical engineer reinforced the importance of creating this type of opportunity.”

The actual program started with a brief Golf 101 seminar that led the girls through the basics of the game. The girls then broke into groups to participate in the STEM activities before they were treated to a special guest appearance. NFL Hall of Fame running back and Pittsburgh Steelers legend Jerome Bettis stopped by PXG Atlanta to talk with the students about finding and taking advantage of opportunities so that they can be even more successful in life.

Bettis shared, “Kids of color have often been excluded from this game, and every step we take to include and provide opportunity does a couple of things. It opens their eyes to a wonderful game and lets them see another industry. For PXG to extend itself in this way was amazing.”

Following the PXG Atlanta in-store experience, the students traveled to the John A. White Golf Course to put their newfound knowledge to the test on the range.

As the day ended, Wilson reminded the women not to let anybody tell them that they don’t belong in this space or they can’t do something. “If you put your mind to it and believe in yourself, you can go as far as you want.”

To further expand the experience, PXG, #MakeGolfYouThing, and the TOUR Championship have partnered to provide tickets for the girls to attend the tournament at East Lake Golf Club this August. The experience will welcome these students in to enjoy the PGA TOUR’s season ending championship and give them a behind the scenes experience to see how STEM competencies are a critical part of careers in golf.

The PXG Atlanta STEM experience was the last in a series of programming in June centered around celebrating women in golf. Other activities included PXG Women’s Day to Play, a global team initiative created and led by President and Executive Creative Director of PXG Apparel Renee Parsons. The marquee opportunity saw record participation across multiple continents, including North America, the United Kingdom, and Japan. PXG also released PXG Pro Tips with Rob Riggle: LPGA Edition – a must-watch for everyone. Click here to watch the series.

PXG® underscores its everyday efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in golf with additional featured programming and discounted fittings during Women’s Golf Month

Scottsdale, AZ (June 1, 2023) – PXG recognizes that more women than ever are trying, enjoying, and succeeding in golf, and the company is doing its part to continue this momentum and ensure everyone feels welcome. During Women’s Golf Month, PXG is featuring its talented LPGA Tour players, celebrating its employees, and making a mark in the community through several key initiatives aimed at growing the game.

Premiering today, PXG pairs comedy icon and golf addict Rob Riggle with LPGA Tour Professionals, including Celine Boutier, Austin Ernst, and Christina Kim, for some core stimulating, performance-powering tips and tricks. Spanning the fundamentals to the game’s finer points, the nine-episode series, PXG Pro Tips with Rob Riggle: LPGA Edition, is available on PXG’s website and YouTube.

“We can all agree, the need to grow the game is no laughing matter,” President & Executive Creative Director of PXG Apparel Renee Parsons stated. “However, when you combine humor with golf PXG finds players have a bit more fun on the course and are far more likely to come back.”

LAUNCHING JUNE 1, 2023

  • Episode 1:  Austin Ernst delivers some quick warm-up techniques and shows Rob Riggle how to get more distance with his driver.
  • Episode 2: Céline Boutier walks Rob through her swing thoughts to achieve better tempo while Yu Sang Hou highlights her pre-round, driving range routine.
  • Episode 3: Gerina Mendoza helps Rob with his distance control, and Christina Kim gives Rob the lowdown on how to hit a fairway wood.
  • Episode 4: LPGA Rookie Elinor Sudow takes Rob through her swing philosophy and the benefits of using a blended iron set.

COMING LATER IN JUNE

  • Episode 5: Gina Kim explains the benefits of getting fitted for your driver and shows Rob how to control tempo with the big stick.
  • Episode 6: Jennifer Song teaches Rob how to gain more spin with wedges around the green and schools him on the importance of a proper grip.
  • Episode 7: Linnea Strom has Rob focusing on his rotation to gain more power and distance. Christina Kim takes him back to the fundamentals with chipping.
  • Episode 8: Megan Khang shares how to hit a consistent draw and adapt your swing when hitting into the wind.
  • Episode 9: Mina Harigae gets practical when practicing with alignment sticks, and Christina Kim loosens Rob up with some pre-round stretching techniques.

PXG is also continuing its tradition of turning its focus to the women who help power the company – 26% of its workforce – this month. Under the direction of Renee Parsons, every woman in the company, regardless of role or location, is given a paid day off to engage in a golf-related activity. The initiative is titled PXG Women’s Day to Play, and it will be held on June 5, 2023, with coordinated events in Scottsdale, London, and Tokyo.

Parsons shared, “We recognize that creating opportunities for the women on our team to experience golf is important to their day-to-day success and to growing the game at large. By looking inward, removing barriers, and creating a supportive environment, we hope to inspire interest and engagement and promote job satisfaction.”

Taking the company’s efforts a step further, PXG continues to help advance the game through its local retail and fitting studios and field teams. For June, all golf club fittings for women are 90% off using the offer code, “WOMENS90”.

The company also looks to help demystify the game for underserved students from diverse backgrounds through its PXG engineer-led Science of Golf programming. On June 26, 2023, PXG will host STEM Atlanta Women – an Atlanta-based science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) group focused on creating opportunities for black women and young girls in the area – at its PXG Atlanta Store. Through this event and similar ones at other locations, PXG looks to inspire America’s youth, from all backgrounds, to pursue STEM careers in golf and get involved in the game itself.
