Rookie Golfer Jake Knapp Breaks Through on the PGA TOUR & Secures Coveted Spot in The Masters with Sunday Win

Scottsdale, AZ – (February 26, 2024) –PXG PGA TOUR Rookie Jake Knapp claimed his first PGA Tour victory at the Mexico Open following an impressive birdie run on Saturday and a solid Sunday finish. Knapp went into the final round with a four-stroke lead and rallied on the back nine to finish at 19-under for the week.

After sinking the winning putt, Knapp said, “It has always been my dream to win on the PGA TOUR. I am grateful that PXG believed I could get it done and am proud to bring one home for the PXG Troops.”

PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons quickly praised Knapp for his grit and outstanding performance throughout the week. “Jake has been a true ambassador for PXG, and we couldn’t be more proud of him,” Parsons said. “His determination, focus, and dedication to the game inspire us all. Congratulations, Jake!”

The victory was a significant milestone for Knapp, who was doubling as a bouncer just three years ago to make ends meet. After turning pro in 2016, Knapp played on the Canadian Tour and the Korn Ferry Tour, tirelessly working to improve his game and achieve his goals. Last year, after joining PXG’s professional staff, he finished high enough on the points list to officially earn his PGA TOUR card, and since then, Knapp hasn’t looked back. Sunday’s career-changing moment proved that you can reach the top of the mountain with hard work. The win also cemented Knapp’s spot in The Masters.

PXG Tour Professional Cristobal Del Solar recorded the lowest score ever in a PGA TOUR-sanctioned event, shooting a remarkable 57 during the first round of the Korn Ferry Tour’s Astara Golf Championship.

Capitalizing on the favorable conditions at Country Club de Bogota-Pacos, a par-70 course stretching 6,254 yards amidst the challenging elevation of nearly 9,000 feet, Del Solar opened with six birdies and a sensational eagle on the par-4 ninth hole, propelling him to an impressive 8-under at the turn.

Maintaining his momentum into the back nine, Del Solar showcased his skill with a birdie on the challenging par-4 10th, followed by an eagle on the demanding par-5 12th. His run continued with birdies on the 14th and 15th holes while he locked in four crucial pars on the closing stretch, notably conquering two of the course’s most formidable challenges – the par-3 17th and par-4 18th.  Finishing the day with an incredible -13 under par, Del Solar’s record 57 propels him into the history books.

Who is Cristobal Del Solar?

Cristobal Del Solar is currently navigating his sophomore year on the Korn Ferry Tour. Hailing from the ranks of Florida State University, Del Solar made the leap to professional golf in 2017 after completing his collegiate journey. Prior to earning his Korn Ferry Tour card for the 2022-23 season, he honed his skills over a four-year stint on both the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica and PGA TOUR Canada circuits. In the 2023 season, Del Solar secured a commendable 58th position on the Korn Ferry Tour Points List, showcasing his steady progress and determination on the professional golfing stage

PXG LPGA Tour Professional Celine Boutier Conquers the Competition to Win the Maybank Championship

Scottsdale, AZ (October 29, 2023) – PXG LPGA Tour Professional Celine Boutier continued her winning streak with a spectacular victory at the Maybank Championship at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club. With eight birdies during her final round, Boutier found herself tied for the lead after 18-holes. The tournament went into a head-to-head nine-hole playoff, tying the record for second-longest playoff in LPGA Tour history. Boutier ultimately came out on top, conquering the competition to clinch the win.

“I feel like my game has been solid this season and was confident if I stayed focused this week, I could earn another win,” PXG LPGA Tour Professional Celine Boutier shared. “Lifting the trophy after playing an additional nine-holes was very overwhelming. I am so proud to celebrate this win with my family, friends, caddie, and the rest of my team – including PXG – who have invested so much to help me pursue my dreams.”

Scottsdale, AZ (October 9, 2023) – PXG Tour Professionals swept the men’s tours over the weekend, officially lighting up the leaderboards across the PGA and Korn Ferry Tours.

PXG PGA TOUR Professional Luke List came through in a big way on Sunday, triumphing in a 5-man playoff at the Sanderson Farms Championship. This is List’s second career win on the PGA TOUR, following his victory at Torrey Pines last year.

“Luke is always a fun player to watch, and he certainly did not disappoint this weekend. He earned his place in the winners’ circle, adding to an incredible year of seven wins for PXG’s tour players,” said PXG Founder and CEO Bob Parsons.

“This is the best I have played all year,” Luke List offered. “I feel like everything – from my swing to my PXG golf clubs – is really dialed-in. This win is further affirmation for me that the hours and the grind has been worth it.”

Over on the Korn Ferry Tour, PXG Tour Professional Paul Barjon carded 14-under to clinch a three-stroke victory at the Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance. As a golf research and development company, we take pride in making the best equipment money can buy, and while we push the boundaries with every product, we knew we had something special in the GEN6 Driver.

We were so confident, in fact, that we issued a challenge to prove that the GEN6 Driver stands tall next to all the competition, and we were willing to bet on it.

The Challenge

Throughout August, PXG invited all golfers – fans and critics – to put their current driver to the test in a head-to-head competition against the GEN6 Driver. It was pretty straightforward. If our driver was longer or had a tighter dispersion, PXG won. If not, we handed over a $100 USD Mastercard Rewards Card. No questions asked.

“PXG has never lacked confidence, but it’s more confident in the 0311 GEN6 Driver than any other it has put out in the past, and we found out exactly why,” wrote GolfLink’s Nick Heidelberger after taking the challenge. “It’s as long as the longest drivers on the market, and more accurate. That’s a combination any golfer would happily take.”

AND THE WINNER IS…

The PXG GEN6 Driver. And it wasn’t exactly close.

A staggering 93 percent of the 2,280 challengers did not walk away $100 richer. Luckily for them, though, they found a driver that’s better than the one currently in their bag, and it’s hard to put a price on that.

“To be honest, I’m really blown away by the PXG 0311 GEN6 Driver,” said Paul Libertore with Golfer’s Authority. “After seeing the numbers, it’s clear that this driver doesn’t just meet expectations, but it sets them. I wish I had done this before I went out and bought the PING G430.”

INCREASED DISTANCE

Everyone wants to be longer off the tee, and every new driver that hits the market claims to help you do just that. We could explain the technology that went into the GEN6 Driver that generates significant face deflection to create ultra-fast ball speeds, or we can just show you the results. Among the more than 2,000 drivers put to the test, the GEN6 averaged an additional 8.6 yards in total distance. The average distance with the PXG was 242 yards as compared to 234 yards with competitor drivers.

TIGHTER DISPERSION

But, what’s distance without accuray?

Not only is the GEN6 Driver engineered for outstanding distance, it also delivers incredible forgiveness and tight dispersion. On average, the more than 2,000 challengers saw a dispersion pattern of 33-feet, seven-inches when swinging the GEN6 compared to 48-feet, one-inch with their current gamers. Getting properly fitted is one of the best things you can do for accuracy off the tee, and the tall/deep clubface of the GEN6 is designed to support excellent mishit performance, especially on higher face impacts.

KHANG AND THE GEN6 WIN ON TOUR

From beginners to best in the game, PXG designs clubs for every player, and the incredible results for the GEN6 Driver go beyond the hitting bay. With her 9-degree GEN6 Driver in the bag, PXG LPGA Tour Professional Megan Khang, claimed her first professional win at the CPKC Women’s Open in late August. She’ll continue the momentum and make her third Solheim Cup appearance this month after claiming 10 top-10 finishes during the qualifying period.

PXG Pro Nicolas Echavarria Clinches His First Victory & Ties Tournament Scoring Record at -21

Scottsdale, AZ (March 6, 2023) – PXG PGA TOUR Professional Nicolas Echavarria takes home his first PGA TOUR victory at the Puerto Rico Open. Closing out the week at 21-under tied for the tournament scoring record set in 2014, Echavarria finished two-strokes ahead of the competition to secure his spot at the top of the leaderboard.

“Nico is one heck of a player, and we are proud to count him among our PXG Troops,” PXG founder and CEO Bob Parsons stated. “He demonstrated great focus throughout the weekend to maintain his lead, which certainly paid off. Kaboom baby!”

“My PXG Irons have been amazing all year,” Echavarria shared following his win. “My distance control is outstanding, and the spin rates are so consistent. They allow me to flight the ball in the wind and that was huge for me this week!”

PXG continuously works to innovate and engineer the best golf clubs on the market for players of all skill levels. Introducing new PXG 0317 ST Milled Blades. Inspired by our tour pros, these super tour blades are made for advanced amateurs and professional golfers who crave greater workability, enhanced control, and an exceptional feel. Available in both a chrome and Xtreme Dark finish, the new blade irons look stunning at address and sharpen your game with every shot.

We teamed up with LPGA Tour Pro, Austin Ernst, to get an inside review on the new 0317 ST Milled Blade Irons and why she will be putting them in the bag.

A Conventional Blade with So Much More

PXG’s 0317 ST Milled Blade Irons are designed for highly skilled players looking to keep the unmatched feel of a blade while adding greater distance and more workability to control shot shaping.

Blended Set Design

The new set of irons is a blended set design, meaning the longer irons have a larger cavity back design. This typically makes the difficult long irons more forgiving, while the short irons deliver max control.

Precision Milled Grooves

Engineered for high spin rates that allow soft landing in fairways or on greens.

3X Forged Body

The forging process is made with 8260 Soft Carbon Steel that when developed, creates a tight grain structure that lengthens the life of the grooves, feel, and club-head.
