    Preferred Shaft Flex

Recommendations for players who CONSISTENTLY hit their 7-iron:

    • Ladies: Less than 120 yards.
    • Senior: 120-135 yards.
    • Regular: 135-155 yards. Most common flex.
    • Stiff: 155-175 yards.
    • Extra Stiff: 175 yards or more.

Beginning golfers who are not in the Ladies or Senior shaft flex category should select Regular Flex Shafts.

    Preferred Shaft Material

GRAPHITE shafts are vibration-dampening, lightweight options. They produce a softer feel, a higher launch, and more speed for improved distance.

STEEL shafts are designed to maximize consistency and provide a stable feel for stronger players. Steel shafts are generally heavier than graphite and are available in a variety of weights and stiffness profiles to help optimize your launch conditions.

    Preferred Grip Size

Measure your hand, crease to finger tip.

    • Undersize: less than 6.5"
    • Standard: 6.5" to 8"
    • Midsize: 8" to 9"
    • Oversize: more than 9"

    Zero Torque. Clutch Performance.

The PXG Hot Rod ZT is a center-shafted mallet putter engineered with a true Zero Torque Design to keep the face square to the path throughout the entire putting stroke. By positioning the center of gravity (CG) just below the shaft axis, Hot Rod ZT minimizes twisting forces that cause the face to open or close, delivering exceptional stability with minimal golfer manipulation.

Precision-milled from 6061 aluminum with a black anodized finish, Hot Rod ZT features four interchangeable sole weights and concealed high-density tungsten to boost MOI and forgiveness. PXG’s Pyramid Milled Face Pattern enhances roll consistency while delivering the soft sound of an insert with the responsive feel of a solid milled putter.

    Designed To Roll True

Hot Rod ZT is engineered with 6° of measured loft but plays like a standard 3° putter thanks to an integrated 3° forward press. This design naturally positions the hands at address, promotes consistent face delivery, and pairs seamlessly with PXG’s slant grip options developed specifically for zero-torque putting.

    PXG Slant Putter Grips

Designed with a 1.5° slant, PXG Slant grips help move the hands into a natural playing position for zero-torque putters, supporting a stable, repeatable stroke.

    Hot Rod ZT Putter FAQs

Is Hot Rod ZT a zero torque putter?

Hot Rod ZT is a zero torque putter designed to minimize twisting during the putting stroke. Hot Rod ZT positions the center of gravity just below the shaft axis, helping the face stay square to the path with little to no manipulation from the golfer.

Is the Hot Rod ZT center-shafted?

Yes. Hot Rod ZT features a center-shafted design that aligns the shaft axis closely with the center of gravity, enhancing stability and promoting a face-square stroke.

What does the onset hosel do?

The onset hosel directs the shaft axis just above the CG to create a toe-up balance point. This helps the putter resist twisting and supports Hot Rod ZT’s zero torque performance while maintaining a natural setup position.

Why does Hot Rod ZT have 6° of loft?

Hot Rod ZT is designed with 6° of measured loft to account for its integrated 3° forward press. At address, the putter plays like a standard 3° loft, promoting proper launch and consistent roll.

    What alignment options are available?

Hot Rod ZT is available in two alignment configurations:

    • SL2: Standard model with two sightlines
    • SL1: Clean, blank back cavity for a minimalist look

Both options offer the same performance, allowing players to choose based on visual preference.

What grips are available for Hot Rod ZT?

Hot Rod ZT pairs with PXG Slant Pistol grips designed specifically for zero torque putting:

    • Slant Pistol: Smaller, traditional pistol profile
    • Slant Pistol Mid: Larger pistol profile for added stability
    • Slant 1.5: Flatter, non-tapered rectangular profile

All are designed to help move the hands into a natural playing position.

Is Hot Rod ZT a mallet putter?

Yes. Hot Rod ZT is a high-MOI mallet putter engineered for stability, forgiveness, and consistency, especially on off-center strikes.

Can the head weight be adjusted?

Yes. Hot Rod ZT features four interchangeable sole weights, allowing head weight to be adjusted from 340g to 410g to match stroke preference and feel.

What materials are used in the Hot Rod ZT?

Hot Rod ZT is CNC-milled from 6061 aluminum and features concealed high-density tungsten beneath the sole weight ports to increase MOI and overall stability.

Who is the Hot Rod ZT best for?

Hot Rod ZT is ideal for golfers who:

    • Struggle to keep the putter face square
    • Prefer a stable, low-manipulation stroke
    • Like the look and forgiveness of a mallet
    • Want the benefits of zero torque design in a center-shafted putter
Is Hot Rod ZT available for left-handed golfers?

Yes. Hot Rod ZT is available in both right- and left-handed models.

How does Hot Rod ZT compare to other PXG putters?

Hot Rod ZT is one of PXG’s most stability-focused putters, designed around true zero torque performance. It differs from blade or toe-hang models by reducing face rotation and promoting a repeatable, face-square stroke.
