PXG, the performance-focused golf equipment brand that disrupted the industry with its bold approach to product development and distribution, has released a supercharged line of metal woods. New PXG GEN2 Drivers, Fairway Woods and Hybrids feature Hot Rod Technology inspired by the look and extreme performance of American muscle cars.

With raw power in and under the hood, PXG GEN2 metal woods are engineered to inspire confidence and support maximum performance.

New Hot Rod Technology includes a multi-level, variable thickness carbon fiber crown, honeycomb TPE insert, variable face design and precision weighting system.

“The technology we are introducing in our GEN2 metal woods is groundbreaking,” PXG founder and CEO Bob Parsons said. “The clubs are absolutely beautiful, and the performance will shift your game into overdrive.”

PXG’s innovative new carbon fiber crown design not only reflects the aggressive hood styling of an American muscle car but also serves as a distinctive alignment aid. The multi-level, variable thickness structure creates a stiffer carbon fiber construction, which helps reduce energy loss to produce incredible ball speed and distance. The crown also provides support to the face structure for enhanced consistency.

And, a striking new high performance, anti-glare finish dramatically reduces distractions at address.

“With a bigger sweet spot, the GEN2 Driver’s performance is insane and the consistency is unreal,” said 2-time PGA TOUR winner James Hahn. “I can actually swing the driver a little faster and not worry about mishits because I know, even on a mishit, the ball is going to fly straight and go long.”

2014 FedExCup Champion Billy Horschel added, “This driver goes forever! Of all the drivers I have hit, it is by far the easiest to hit in the center of the face.”

Coupled with the carbon fiber crown, PXG’s honeycomb TPE insert dampens vibrations, producing an outstanding feel and sound. The honeycomb construction helps reduce the mass of the dampening structure, allowing for more weight to be repositioned around the sole, keeping the CG low and the MOI high.

Fine-tuning, using PXG’s signature Precision Weighting Technology, alters the initial launch conditions. New, larger, heavier weights create efficient adjustability and significantly more influence on ball flight with each weight moved. As a result, golfers can achieve the best possible performance without modifying their swing.

“When I first hit the new 0811 X GEN2 Driver, the first words that came out of my mouth were ‘hot damn,’” shared 3-time LPGA Tour winner Christina Kim.

After putting PXG’s GEN2 metal woods in play, American actor and PXG customer Don Cheadle shared, “Boom! These sticks are sick. My game has never been more dialed in. I’m shooting my lowest scores ever and my index is plummeting!”

The PXG 0811 X GEN2 Driver, a low-spin golf club focused on distance and accuracy, is available in 9, 10.5, and 12-degree loft options. The 0811 XF, a mid-spin club focused on forgiveness with an exceptionally high MOI that teeters on the brink of USGA limits, is available in 9, 10.5, 12, and 14-degree lofts. Retail pricing for both is $575.

PXG 0341 X GEN2 Fairway Woods, $425, are available in 2, 3, 5, and 7-degree loft options, while PXG 0317 X GEN2 Hybrids, $375, are available in 17, 19, 22, 25, and 28-degrees. Purchased through PXG, price includes a custom fitting with a PXG Master Fitter, access to an extensive matrix of premium shafts and array of grip options.

While some may feel like the new pricing is a departure from the company’s original brand positioning Bob Parsons reflects, “PXG’s goal has always been to develop the world’s finest golf club technology – and I believe we have done just that. Initially our prices reflected what it cost to manufacture our game-changing clubs at low quantities. PXG’s growth has been tremendous and with that comes certain economies of scale. Our new pricing, while still premium, is exactly where it ought to be given our success.”

“But the big news about our supercharged new drivers, fairway woods and hybrids isn’t the more competitive prices. The big news is that they perform! What we were able to accomplish even surprised us,” Parsons concluded.
