International Women’s Day is celebrated every year on March 8 to bring attention to the issues of women and gender inequality throughout the world. For this special day, we at PXG are thrilled to share how our own LPGA Tour staff and women at PXG are committed to breaking the bias in 2022 with inspiring and empowering stories about these exceptional women who are the future of golf around the world!

“It’s a time to shine a light on the BOLD women who have paved the way for change and who continue to increase visibility for the inequality that still exists.

This is a limited-edition collection created by PXG in honor of International Women’s Day on March 8. Let us celebrate and empower all of the women in our lives and around the world.

Join me as #PXG stands together to honor #IWD2022.”

International Women’s Day is about empowerment, and for many women across our industry and around the world, that can mean a number of things. For PXG, it means working to make sure there are more women in leadership roles in business. It means fostering an environment where women can thrive and succeed on their own terms. And, it means recognizing how far we have come as a society over decades when it comes to gender equality—and how far we still have to go.

At PXG, we believe in empowerment and that a better future comes when bias is broken, and success is celebrated for all.

HIGHLIGHTING BIAS IN WOMEN’S SPORT

I definitely remember one incident I was playing golf with some friends, and the starter drove up to me and said ‘excuse me the women’s tees are up ahead,’ and I’m like I am an LPGA Tour professional!’ Unfortunately, I think stuff like that happens more than people realize.
Mina Harigae, LPGA TOUR Professional

We have this stigma that you know every woman has to be sexy and sex sells, but why can’t talent sell? I never understood why the majority of people want to only watch men. Come watch us and realize how good we really are.
Ryann O’Toole, LPGA TOUR Professional

We’ve come a long way in golf and in women’s sports, but there are obviously still some issues out there. Not just in terms of opportunities for women to perhaps play certain courses and get enough tee times but also in terms of sponsorships at the professional level and companies willing to invest in the women’s game. We have come a long way, but we’ve got a long way to go
