We took the renowned engineering, relentless research, and maverick attitude that put PXG on the map, and introduced a new product line. Please welcome the PXG M16 Putter Shaft.
The first PXG Putter Shaft ever manufactured, this sleek stick took our engineers years of research to complete. And boy, did they perfect it. Delivering unmatched stiffness, effortless consistency, and a wildly soft feel – this putter shaft outperforms its stiff competition. Every detail engineered into this shaft is an intentional innovation designed for enhanced stability on the green. From its high-grade multi-material construction, superior internal engineering, and original contour design, the PXG M16 Putter Shaft will transform your game.
The PXG M16 Putter Shaft features a multi-material construction, with an upper section built from high modulus carbon fiber and a lower tip built from steel. Unlike typical steel putter shafts, this unique dual composition helps to deliver more stiffness and stability, while maintaining a soft yet solid feel.
The PXG M16 Putter Shaft features twenty-two steel wires interlaid down the outer ring of the shaft, each strategically positioned to enhance stiffness. The inner-most area is filled with a high modulus 60T carbon fiber, stiffer than the standard modulus 24T carbon fiber. Two rubber sheets sit sandwiched between the steel wires and carbon fiber to generate a soft, yet solid, feel.
Designed with a multi-material construction, the shaft transitions from graphite to steel. While the steel tip features a traditional taper, the lower section of the graphite sector utilizes a larger diameter and thicker material construction to further enhance stability and stiffness, while maintaining its sleek aesthetic.

The PXG M16 Putter Shaft boasts an impressively stiff butt frequency, measured at 386 cycles per minute (CPM). Butt frequency, measured in CPM, is a method of calculating the overall stiffness of a golf shaft. The higher the frequency, the stiffer the shaft. Data shows the M16 Shaft ranges 10% to 20% stiffer than many other high-priced aftermarket putter shafts promoted for their stiffness and stability. The PXG M16 is also 26% stiffer than a traditional steel putter shaft. The increased shaft stiffness directly correlates to improved accuracy and consistency.
The PXG M16 Putter Shaft underwent rigorous robot testing with putter analysis software. Given the stability enhancing design, the M16 Putter Shaft delivers 37% more accuracy than a traditional steel shaft. This is achieved by reducing the amount of face rotation during impact, keeping the putter face square and rolling the ball down the intended start line.
Data was gathered from three different locations across the putter face to include mishit and center hit performance. The tests proved the multi-material PXG M16 Putter Shaft improved ball speed consistency and reduced side spin. The PXG M16 Putter Shaft also helps achieve true roll 11% faster compared to a conventional steel shaft. True roll occurs when the ball no longer experiences skid, which creates a more pure roll that holds its line and speed more consistently.
